I think the problem with AEW taking shots is that's what late WCW and TNA did a ton... and look how far they got.

Just build your own thing and people will watch.

I'm fine with one small thing in the entirety of a 4 hour show. Especially when you have HHH calling them out as a "pissant company" in his HOF speech. If it keeps going, then yeah it'll get tiresome but as a one off thing for an entrance I'm fine with it. Though I'm also with Milkman and not really giving a shit about the competing fan camp thing either, I just want to see some good shows and last night made me more happy than anything else recently.

@gundato: When people talk about "Writing" it's more the all encompassing aspects of it, not just the literal scripting of the promos. Bad writing covers promos, for sure, but as you said the best talkers make bad material good. When I say bad writing is the biggest issue a lot of wrestlers face, what I mean is some of the things you've pointed out: the characters, motivations, and why anyone should care about what's happening in the matches. It doesn't have to be Breaking Bad, but good writing is absolutely paramount to making people care about a story and it's something that WWE (and honestly a lot of wrestling around the world) lacks. Sure, there was a LOT of hokey, dumb shit in the Attitude and Ruthless Agression eras, but at their core there were really strong stories and feuds that made sense and had consistent character motivations.

I'm pretty sure if you go back to his NXT days in this thread, I was always a firm member of the "Baron Corbin is one of mah boys" club. I watch very little stuff recently so I don't have the vehement disinterest a lot of people do. I'm not particularly interested in what they're doing with him (I feel like there were a dozen better options for Kurt's last match) but I definitely wouldn't say he's bad at all. Really have no issues with him, he just suffers from the same thing most of the roster does, weak writing.

Spent the day listening to the two albums I was looking forward to today: The Maine's You Are OKand Billie Eilish's WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP WHERE DO WE GO. Going in I was much more excited for The Maine's record as they'd been on a killer streak of their last 3 albums being fantastic while Billie I'd slept on while she's been blowing up while writing her off as yet another singer/songwriter. Listening to a couple songs recently I found myself falling deep into the hype train for this super dark, sad child.

Having listened to both, I found myself slightly disappointed in You Are OK; it's good and a fun enough listen through, but I found very little actually stuck with me and it was definitely the weakest of the last 4 albums. Billie Eilish's album, on the other hand, honestly blew me away. All the different textures and influences you hear pulled through the album just immediately grab you and don't let go.

Also if there's one word to describe this album, it's B A S S. Seriously, listen with some good headphones or on a full sound system with a sub because the low end on this album shakes the shit out of you.

Why is WWE constantly shortening wrestlers names? They made Mustafa Ali just Ali. Are people getting confused by wrestlers having a first and last name?

Can't be confusing Bobby Joe with those names with more than 2 syllables.

@turboman: I'd be more willing to believe that if Ronda wasn't historically someone with incredibly thin skin. If she is working, she's succeeded in making me think she's an idiot so... great on her I guess?

I just want to say that last match was great, and that there's something so special and wholesome about the way Big E and Woods idolize and respect Kofi. Find a squad that gasses you up like the New Day does for each other.
